Where to Shop in Puerto Penasco
Have a desire to go shopping but can’t pull your self away from the beautiful white sandy beach. Well, go shopping on the beach to one of the many beach vendors. You name it, they got it - everything from jewelry, pottery, and baskets, to popsicles, burritos, and mangos to massages, jet skiing and parasailing. Bargaining is allowed and encouraged - don’t be taken.
Rocky Point Old Port Fish Market
You pull into a parking place, just barely squeezing in as someone else exits. As you get out of your vehicle ten different voices are yelling at you, “Shrimp, you want shrimp. Fish, we have fish, shrimp, we have the best prices!” Depending on the season, you are either sweltering as the heat and humidity immediately assault you or you are greeted with cool and gentle breeze. Either way - Rocky Point’s Old Port fish market is a unique and exciting experience.

Everyone familiar with RP will tell you to go to “Shack’s 5th Avenue”, but good luck finding it. We found it quite by accident taking a wrong turn one day. This is another great place to shop. It is located in a relatively new shopping district on Revolucion Ave.

The guys to the left are Noah and his two sons, Gile and Rodrigo.. They are jewelry vendors. You’ll find them out on the beach almost every day. all day. A good part of the day Noah spends in front of Las Palomas and Sonoran Sky. His two sons can be found in front of Manny’s. If you don’t see something you like, describe what you’re looking for and they will try to track it down bring it to you the next day. I've heard that they will even go into town and purchase a piece for another vendor to resell to you. I guess topay for the front door service and convienance.
Sea Lion Watching on Sea of Cortez
There is nothing like being on the open waters. Hum of the engines, the bow bobbing, splash of the waves against the hull as the boat cuts through the water, and the sun beating down on your body. Out in the distance is your destination of San Felipe at the base of the towering mountains of the Baja, but before you arrive, the captain makes a short detour, as he has just spotted a pod of dolphins. The boat draws nearer to the pod, the dolphins begin to keep pace, as if your boat is a new member of the pod, playing and skipping along the open Sea of Cortez. You snap your pictures and take your movie. Then, as the dolphins swim away, and the captain returns to his course toward San Felipe and the setting sun, you sit, in silence, reflecting on your expericen
