Puerto Penasco Activities for Everyone
Living in Rocky Point, sunning yourself on the beach, drinking your favorite margarita with locally produced Manny’s Tequila, or maybe shopping at one of the many the local merchants, Puerto Peñasco has activities for everyone. Kids can ride the water-slide at Las Palomas Resorts, tourist can shop on Rocky Point Rodeo Drive and freshly caught shrimp can be bought in the Old Port Shrimp Market. Cuban Cohiba Cigars can be bought at the local smoke shops. Hand made Mexican furniture can be made-to-order. Or experience the local culture at the community square

Rodeo Drive and the Malacon/Shrimp Market are the two most popular shopping districts in Puerto Peñasco. T-Shirts, pottery, medal workings, Tasco Jewelry, Mexican rugs, blankets, purses, you name it, they have it at these independently owned shops. Bring a good pair of walking shoes, plenty of water and of-course plenty of cash. Bargaining is allowed and expected so bring your negotiation skills. Some shops accept credit cards, but be prepared to pay a transaction fee and conversion fee charged by the credit card company. Some merchants may even tack on additional transaction charge. Its best to carry and use U.S. Dollars .

Tequila and Cigars
While out for a day of Rocky Point sight seeing and shopping you should check out Manny’s Tequila Factory. Manny’s churns out a wide range of

Manny’s Beach Club branded tequila from blanco to almond flavors tequila liquor. Next to the Tequila Factory is the leather shop, offering locally made leather jackets and purses. Both shops are located in a blue building right off of Bonito Juarez Blvd. Cuban Cigars are available in Rocky Point from reputable cigar shops in town. The Cigar shops offer a wide selection of Cuban Cigars, Mexican, Santa Dimengo, and Columbian. Two cigar shops you may want to try are The Cuban Cigar Shop and The Tabacco Shop. Shop on Sandy Beach, Rocky Point
While you are enjoying your favorite beverage on Sandy Beach, you better be ready to shop. Beach venders are ready to bargain. It’s a shopper's paradise to shop while laying on the beach in the sun. The more you buy the better the deal. Almost free! As they say. These vendors have everything from pottery, to blankets, to mangos, to hats but most of all they have jewelry, Jewelry for men, jewelry for women, jewelry for kids, jewelry for your dog. Occasionally you’ll find vendors with unique products such as wood carvings and metal works. Keep shopping, you’ll eventually find something. Don’t pay too much.

CEDO Aquarium
A real treat for the kids is the aquarium run by the local technical institute.They have many specices of saltwater fish, octopus, lobster and of course the feared sting ray and jelly fish. The featured attractions are the giant turtles that are ready for a quick pet or the sea lion ready to put on a show for you. For a few bucks you can buy chopped fish and feed it to the sea lion. We recommend that you support this local attraction and give it a try.

Local Festivals and Events
Every year Puerto Penasco plays host to many national and regional events. February is the annual shrimp festival were local restaurants send out their best chiefs to cook up the famous shrimp dishes. February is also the time for the annual martigra festivities. Bikers from all parts of the U.S. gather for the annual Rocky Point Biker's Rally in November were bikers proudly display their rides and swap stories. Rocky Point is also a vacation destination for Mexican's during the Mexican Independence day celebration.

Steph and I recommend that you go with the flow while vacationing in Rocky Point. There is much to see and do. If you don't see everything, you'll have to visit Puerto Penasco again.
